Frogless Frustration

Regular readers will know that randomlinkage.com is one of, if not THE, worlds premiere Freddo the Frog supporters. For those not in the know, Freddo the Frog is a delicious chocolate treat from Cadburies. However, due to some sort of illness scare which some people whinged about, Freddo the frog is currently not available for sale in the UK. For months I have pined for a Freddo but none came, in this, the great Freddo Drought of ‘06.

In a desperate attempt to get some Freddo action, I searched that there Interweb for his royal chocolate froggyness. And I’m glad I did, for I was suitably amazed with what I found. It seems that those crazy Australian folks down under have amassed a small Freddo the Frog army.

Look at the flavours! Choco Chip Freddo, White Chocolate Freddo, Peppermint Freddo and many more. There’s Freddo Rainbow Crunch. What’s that?! Rainbow Crunch? Well it’s got rainbow candy crunchy honeycomb pieces in it of course. It’s nearly too much for a grown man to take.

It seems like they’ve taken a fantastic chocolate idea (the basic Freddo) and have gone through other tasty confectionary and simply combined the two. In a way, Australian Freddos are a bit like The Borg, harvesting bits of other sweets and adding their flavoursome and tastesome distinctiveness to their own. And if there were one to rule over The Borg Freddos, it would be him, the daddy of all Freddos. The Freddo God. THE GIANT FREDDO. A giant Freddo! I know! Madness!

The strange thing to note is that these are all Australian Cadburies Chocolate (which is made using whole milk and no vegetable oil, apparently. Whooh, hark at Oz) and are also all quite expensive. The minimum price is 45p, which compared to 15p is quite a considerable change. Still, that’s the price you pay for chocolate luxury. I’ll be placing my order as soon as payday rolls around. But don’t take my words for it, listen to the voice of the people…

Wow, when the honeycomb hits my lips, its like a chocolate supernova in my mouth, with sweet crunchie goodness. Now I’m addicted, I NEED MORE HONEYCOMB FREDDO’S NOW!!!!!! GIVE THEM TO ME!!!!

Me and my family really liked the freddo bar and so did my best friend. Buy it it is lovely!

Honeycomb with chocolate in a frog shape! Very tasty! These are my favourite type of Freddo Frog!!! A must try!

i would say that this freddo is the best one out of them all :) SEE FOR YOURSELFS and try it!!! YUM YUM

YUM YUM indeed. Can’t argue with that.

    I must say i’m tempted…

Surely the higher price is due to the cost of having them shipped from Oz in the first place. It does sound a price worth paying though.

I would like to volunteer in the Ozzy Freddo evalautions. You dont have to fly me out there unless you insists ( passport applied for in case). May I suggest a trade box of each variety each month. I think that would give me a good basis to work from. A control would also be needed. possibly a VIP supply sent to me dirt from Cadburys UK. I will leave it with you and look forward to becoming your tester.

It will be a tough job but someone must do it!
