On the excellent Adam and Joe podcast a month or so ago, the topic of conversation was pirate radio. More specifically, the fact that pirate radio will die away with the introduction of more and more digital channels. To demonstrate what we’ll be missing out on, Adam made some mock pirate radio interruptions that could easily pop into your ears when listening to a regular, non-digital radio.
I don’t know why, but one of these clips caused much laughter within me. I had to leave the office at work and go stand outside to calm down from my giggling fit, but now, a month on, the effect is still much the same.
That clip… was about cake. The opening line, ‘Who wants a nice lickle bit a cake now?’ should be enough to get you excited. It’s a junglistic bass-tastic track about chocolate cake with excellent sponge. Adam and Joe, cake, pirate radio, jungle music, it’s a winning combination! But the podcast was a month ago, is this comedy treasure lost forever?
Well fortunately for us, the entire ‘Who want’s a nice lickle bit a cake now?’ track is available from Adam’s eclectic blog pages here. Honestly, go to his blog and download the ‘Cake Slice’ track, it’s worth the minor effort involved of clicking some buttons and using your ears to listen.
If you don’t laugh then I think you’ll find you’ve died. Unlucky there. But wait until the bit at about 43 seconds into the track, the sheer magnificence of that 11 second segment should kickstart your rotting carcass back to life.
You eat your cake while I fill up your cuppa tea.
The cake is a lie.
Sorry, I had to say it, although I am suprised Geekboy didn’t beat me to it.
That’s the best jungle track about cake that I’ve heard all year.
Sod it, it’s the best track I’ve heard all year full stop!
