The A.V. Club’s Contractually Obligated Fall Movie Preview – where The Onion’s AV brigade wrestles with their own complete lack of enthusiasm for this Autumn’s movies.
Inventory: 19 Terrific Midnight Movies From The Last 10 Years – where they can barely contain their fanboyish enthusiasm over some genuinely great movies.
Incidentally, go watch everything in that second [...]

Robert Downey Jr is to play superhero Iron Man…
Wow, that bit of casting brilliance came out of nowhere. It’s being directed by Jon ‘Swingers’ Favreau, which is a good thing as he handled Elf pretty well. And the two films, as I understand them, are pretty much identical.
But the main thing to remember here is [...]

Here at Randomlinkage HQ, Myself and Mr Trench often meet in the library to filter through the various spam comments we get. Through the miracle of technology, you, our precious readers, won’t see the spam, as it is stopped from reaching your most sacred eyes by the clever use of filters. Mostly we’d scan through [...]

Baldwin | Insanity | trench @ 21:15, September 27th, 2006.
The pressures of being a fulltime Baldwin may well have become too much for Young Baldwin.
The signs are not good.
Luckily you could no more harm Baldwin by removing one member than you could harm a colony of ants by killing one worker.
NB. I cannot be held liable for any injuries caused to Baldwin by boiling [...]

I recently remarked that I’d like to get around to playing the Gamecube title Killer 7 when I get a Wii. Well, now the next game from the same studio is already bounding toward a 2007 release and it looks marvellous.
Just ignore the dialogue/voice acting completely though. Concentrate on the whizzing shiny visuals and hypnotic [...]

Back in the mid-to-late 1990’s, Richard Herring and Stewart Lee were comedy masters. They made the television shows Fist of Fun and This Morning With Richard Not Judy (TMWRNJ), plus they also did various radio shows. If you’ve never heard of either gent or any of their works of art then you have sadly missed [...]

Ever wanted to watch a terrified chubby kid think he’s going to plummet to his death from some sort of bungee-based ride?
Ever wanted to see a grown-up lady laugh manically at the terrified chubby kid as he fights for his life?
Then you have excellent taste. Prepare the laughing gear!

Bodily Harm | Observations of Life | penge @ 11:00, September 23rd, 2006.
From my early formative years to the present day, I have always been amazed by three things. One is the vastness of space and the fact that we occupy a mere fragment of existence. Another is the psychology of interaction between members of different ecosystems. And the last one is the sheer temperature it takes [...]

Sure I could go into a lengthy analysis of the plot and characters from the second installment in the masterful Street Fighter trilogy. But to be frank, no one cares, needless to say Sonny Chiba still plays Tsurugi as completely amoral and goes onto the karate the bejaysus out of nearly everyone he comes across.
Pretty [...]

I tried very hard not to, but I went into this film expecting it to be on a par with the excellent Anchorman. Alas, it doesn’t quite reach those dizzy heights but it’s still a good film in it’s own right.
Whereas Anchorman had a simply insane plot, Talladega Nights actually had some sort of emotional [...]

I was asked today why we don’t include any sort of ‘polling’ facility on randomlinkage. You know what I mean, a little box sits on the right hand side of the site somewhere, asking an all important question with 4 or 5 possible answers. You, the discerning viewer, select the answer you agree with and [...]

Verdict: Aces
among the purest examples of cinema ever
Also a timely reminder for me to pick up both the first film and the series on DVD at some point.
Updated: AICN liked it too.
There’s the vibe through the entire film that someone might die at any time.

You didn’t think the Van Damme masterpiece Bloodsport could be made any better, did you?
Well you were wrong you arrogant pondslime.
I can’t quite put my finger on why this is so funny. It might just be the combination of music and happy-go-lucky chase action, or possibly the amazingly well timed last shot. Either way, brilliant.
