Below is a link to Zero Punctuation’s review of the game ‘Transformers: War for Cybertron’. Yes, it even sounds crap.
If you love Transformers or if you couldn’t give a toss about them, I insist you watch the review. It’s funny. You’ll laugh. The world will be a better place.
Commence watchage.

Modern computer games often bleat on about how realistic they are. Whether it’s the detail on each individual grain of sand in the desert or the accurate physics of the blood spurting from an enemies head-wound, all the attention seems to be on how it looks and not how it plays.
So would some of these [...]

The clip below is a trailer for a game called Queen’s Blade: Spiral Chaos. I have no real idea what’s going on in the game or how it works, as it’s all in crazy Japanese, but I think there’s a theme running through the trailer. I just can’t quite identify exactly what the theme is. Take [...]

It’s a well known fact that LEGO is one of the best things ever invented in the whole sphere of existence across every single plane of reality. Get LEGO bricks and build a car, a plane, a hotel, a killer robot, a fish, whatever you like. Incredible.
Then LEGO made the bold leap into the world [...]

This trailer is so exciting I watched it and had to change my undercrackers.
Yes, I know it’s all CGI and no gameplay clips, but the music and atmosphere and setting more than makes up for that. The music alone is pretty spectacular to be honest.
Plus there’s a release date of 25th March 2011. That’s less [...]

Credit for this little information blast goes to insane crazed nuclear tomfoolerist Dodd, who informed me about a very exciting sequal soon to arrive on computer gaming type devices.
Rejoice and party and give thanks for the majesty of Portal 2, and presumably GLaDOS and everyone’s favourite weighted cube structure, which will be hitting our game-brains [...]

I had such plans for the second part of this year; learn a new language, single-handedly construct a vital A-road, eat four whole packets of Jaffa Cakes in under 10 minutes, kill a chav. But no, oh no, all my plans have gone out of the big plan window and have shattered into tiny broken [...]

Before we continue with this, I want to stress that when I say the filthy, dirty side of computers, I do mean proper filth and dirt, like dust and cobwebs and grime and suchlike. If you’re after the other type of dirt and filth I recommend you speak to Mr Trench, he’s the resident expert there. [...]

Almost two years after this video appeared on YouTube, it’s finally appeared on the Randomlinkage interweb highway sensors. Don’t worry, we’ll take a look at them soon and give them a liberal application of WD40.
For all the people who played Portal and enjoyed it (which should be all of you, let’s be honest) then sit [...]

Hold on tight everyone, we’re taking another brave step into the world of board games. But this time, in a daring deviation to the regular approach of ‘purchasing’ a board game from some sort of retail outlet, you have the chance to… make your own!
Way back in the 1970’s, when hair was big and shoes were [...]

Love Half Life, Half Life Two, Portal, Team Fortress or any other product produced by Valve?
Yes > Then click here to view ‘Valve Time’, a light-hearted interpretation of how Valve measure that tricky concept of ‘time’.
No > Then click here for a picture of a lovely kitten.
Bye the bye!

Bit of a change of tack this one for Randomlinkage. This week you’ll find me struggling to use my wordmasteryness to review a ‘board’ game. That’s right, a game of the non-video variety. I’ve semi-recently found that board games are a bit of a giggle and a good excuse to meet up with like-minded folks. [...]

When Mr Trench and I aren’t drinking fine wines, smoking expensive cigars, eating exquisite sweetmeats or beating the staff with our canes, we often while away our evenings with a little bit of crochet.
Between us we’ve made a few lovely hats, several delightful sweaters and even a charming crochet posing pouch, complete with googly eyes [...]

If the amount of dreadful yet hilarious sexual innuendo in the clip below was unintentional then I will eat not only my hat, but ALL the hats. In the WORLD.
Oh dear. Deary deary me. The slightly sinister lullaby-esque music didn’t help the situation either. I feel slightly grubby now.
I don’t know what else to say. [...]

I don’t get the smash hit game The Sims. You create some people and then, well, you just look after them, make them cook goopa carbonara, tell them to go to bed, instruct them to watch telly… it’s sort of like real life, but… on a PC… but… why? Why?
It’s nice to know that Yahtzee, [...]
